“She’s awesome even the vet said how chilled she was when they came out to vaccinate her!” F.H. (HW Hobbits Flybynite)

“…she’s been amazing. There’s been moments where she’s been unsure about situations – but I’ve got the time to spend doing things slowly and patiently with her and she’s learnt. She knows voice commands and does have respect for me. She’s going to be a really loyal and a kind horse – you set her up so well. Feel very lucky to have her xxx” L.D-M (HW Hobbits Lil Lady)

“I first spoke to Helen in August of 2020 and then went to visit the Doghill Quarter Horse Stud soon after. Helen and Huw are very friendly, knowledgeable and honest. She will tell you truthfully about her horses both physically, mentally and genetically. Which is a breath of fresh air. We were then able to meet her foals, her mares and her stallion. I didn’t realise that I would end up having the privilege of owning one of the foals I saw. Helen’s broodmares were stunning. They were friendly and curious. Then we met Hobbit. You wouldn’t know he’s a stallion as he acts so calm, gentle and placid you’d have thought he’d have been a gelding. Plus, he lives with other geldings. At Doghill, the horses health is paramount and they are carefully monitored. I have experience of what happens when the horses aren’t so well looked after, like they are at Doghill, and the effects can be devastating. They check out the perspective buyers to make sure that any foal that is bought from them goes to the home that best suits the foal and its character.

I became the proud owner of HW Hobbits Shimmer in Feb 2021 and I’ve become prouder of her every day since then. She is stunning and we love her more and more each day. Hobbit has passed onto her all his characteristics of calmness etc. This was shown when she was delivered. She walked off the lorry without a bead of sweat on her. She’d never travelled before and it was a good 3 hour drive for her. She walked off as cool as a cucumber.

Since then, she has shown her gentle and calm nature in many ways, including letting the youngest member of our family (he’s 6 months old, only 3 months younger than shimmer) sit on her back and she looks after him. I can’t wait to see how she grows up and develops”.  R.R. (HW Hobbits Shimmer)

“I am so happy to have Jack home and so happy with the work you did with him. He’s ready to learn and I think he’s going to pick things up quickly and keep me on my toes! I adore him! Thank you for all you have done for me and him”. D.R. (HW Hobbits Fancy Jac)

Hi Helen, so sorry to have not been in contact. Well, after 9 months in livery because of covid-19, Olaf finally got to Menorca on Saturday! He travelled like a super star. He’s lost a bit of weight from the journey, but he seems to be settling in fine. I will keep you posted. Thank you so much for letting me have this little man in may life and starting this new chapter. Stay safe, love C and Olaf. C.P.  (HW Fantastic Mr Fox)

Would highly recommend. Was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Recently brought our newest member of the family, miss baby Bella. Bella has been very well handled and has had the very best start you could ask for. They really do care about their horses and want the best for them.  K.F. (HW Dancing Queen)

Hello Helen and family, Hope you are all well. It is Elvis’s first birthday today, and I had hoped to send you a sunny picture. But up here there is a soggy yearling ear to tail in a winter combo rug with his face buried in haylage, so I will get a photo as soon as the weather brightens again. We all enjoyed the sunshine recently. When you posted pictures of your horses looking well wintered out with no extra forage, I wanted to post a picture of Elvis looking good, with the explanation of stabled at night, rugged day and night, ad lib 14% seed rye grass haylage, Topspec stud balancer, stud mix, alfa-a, flax oil and carrots. Elvis is an absolute poppet, my only gripe is he is still very pale palomino, not golden yet, which means more horse washing! Take care! R.B. (HT Night King)

I bought my Quarter Horse filly “Peggy” from Helen in 2017. Peggy is everything I wished for and everything Helen said she was. If I had more land, I’d be buying more Quarter horses from Helen – they’re fantastic! C.P. (Peggy’s Song on Fire)

Hi, How are you all? Thought I’d give you a little update on Khaleesi – she is fabulous. New rug today as she’s grown lots! She’s maturing into a wonderful young Mare – we’ll definitely be back for another addition in a couple of years when Khaleesi is a bit older! V. P-C (Acorn Fancy Free)
